OUR
WEDNESDAY NIGHT BIBLE
LESSON FROM THE PASTOR’S
PEN:
LIFE’S
UPS AND DOWNS
PSALMS
31
As I look into this
Psalm during these
difficult days, it
behooves this world to
put our trust totally in
God’s hands. David is
saying, “In Thee, O
Lord, do I put my trust;
let me never be
ashamed.” 31:1. Going
through these difficult
days hold on to the
almighty God. Tonight,
as we look to the hills
from whence come our
help, our desire should
be focused on God during
days of this COVID-19.
We, like David have no
other defense but to cry
out to God as he did; he
said, “Deliver me in Thy
righteousness. Bow down
Thine ear to me; deliver
me speedily. Be Thou my
strong rock, for an
house of defense to save
me…lead me, and guide
me,” (Psalm 31:1b-3).
Life has it’s ups and
downs but we never
anticipated that we
would experience times
like these. But tonight
this world is
experiencing some downs
that it never
anticipated. We know now
what it is to be down in
life. No freedom to move
about at will. We don’t
have the freedom to
attend church, go to the
doctor’s offices, the
freedom to hold hands
any more, "real
freedom", even in your
own home. Families must
stand on the outside of
mama’s house and wave to
say happy birthday. We
don’t have the freedom
to go to the nursing
homes and hospitals to
visit love ones. The
world is experiencing
the down side of life,
and no one knows when
the up side of life will
return to what we know
as normal. So, my prayer
is: “Lord” while I’m on
the down side, be my
Rock, bow down Thine ear
unto me, lead me, guide
me.” Greater Concord,
whatever you are going
through or experiencing
tonight, He’s able to
strengthen you. You may
be walking through the
valley of the shadow of
death, but He will be
with you; O praise His
Holy name!
