Trusting God's Guidance
Psalms 32:8-11

Most of us have been on tours. Usually, there is a tour guide. Six years ago, in Rome, we had a guide. She would get far ahead of us and wore us out, but she was a good guide. She was trustworthy and didn't miss a beat with our destinations. That is a guide's job.

I need not say, it matters not how great of a guide your travel agent sets you up with, no guide on the face of this earth can guide like God. The first seven verses of today's text, someone else is talking. At verse eight, God steps in. Trust means to take refuge, to lean on, to roll on, to wait for. All of us needs the trustworthiness of God. I need God to lead me because every once in a while, my pathway gets a little gloomy. God is the all seeing eye. God can see at a distance with an unobstructed view. He's God yesterday, today, and forever.

In life, we're going to experience some complex matters that will test our highest knowledge and our deepest commitment. How will we make it? Do we have any assurance that we will successfully make it through this journey called life? Trust God's guidance. He can help you make it successfully, IF you trust Him. Trust for strength in your uncertainties. Trust is a sufficient roadmap for difficulties and pressures ahead. Corona virus has the world upset, Spring Breaks have been cancelled, CDC says it will be one year before a vaccine can be developed. God says in our text, verse 8, "I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye." The Bible tells us to "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart, and lean not to thine own understanding; in all thy ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct thy path." God can guide in every development. Traveling with God is all right.

There are 3 conditions that determine God's guidance.
1. We must acknowledge Him in all of our steps.
2. We must trust Him in our special need. When no one else can help you, trust God. What about your trust level when you are unaware that you need God?
3. Do not rely on your own insight. Life is absolutely inadequate without God.

God will take you through life if you lean on Him. You could end up messing up your life and someone else's. Read the story about Sarah and Hagar in the Bible. Abraham and Sarah did not trust God. If you seek God, He will be found. If you forsake God, you will be cast off forever. You can't make it without Him. Don't wait until you think you're ready, don't trust your thinking. Accept the invitation to salvation. We need God's guidance. His word keeps us. Thank God for having His eye on me. He guided Peter with His eye, he will guide you. Tell God your life is headed in the wrong direction and ask Him to step in.
